Jonnathan Busko, MD
Medical Advisor
Jonnathan serves as the Medical Advisor for CDS
Outdoor.  His primary responsibilities are to assure
the medical validity of CDS curricula, to set minimum
standards of medical knowledge for course
participants, and to establish a minimum level of
personal health for students.

Jonnathan has over 15 years of involvement in EMS.  He
has worked full-time as a paramedic and, more
recently, as an EMS physician.  He became involved in
SAR in North Carolina as part of a special incident
response team.  He continued his work in SAR and WEMS
as a wilderness paramedic with the Allegheny Mountain
Rescue Group, as a Medical Specialist for PATF-1, a
FEMA USAR team, and as an alpine patroller with the
Seven Springs Ski Patrol.  As a physician, he has
served as the medical director or assistant medical
director for several EMS and rescue agencies.

Jonnathan is active in prehospital, wilderness, and
special operations medicine education.  In addition,
he teaches high angle rope rescue, cave rescue, and
helicopter based insertion / extraction rescue.

Jonnathan completed a residency in emergency medicine
at Albany Medical Center in Albany , NY and
EMS/Emergency Management Fellowship at Carolinas
Medical Center.   Jonnathan is currently employed at
East Maine Medical Center in Bangor as an Emergency
Medicine Physician and is the Medical Director of
Operations for the Emergency Department.  He is also
the medical director for the Bangor Police Department
Special Response (SWAT) Team.

Jonnathan currently lives in Bangor, ME with his wife
Paula, daughter Kate, son Alex, and herd of four-legged furry
people.
